Where I've Been i was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1953.  i lived in the Chicago area until January 1, 2003. while i lived in the Chicago area, for several years i owned a duplex in Bedford, Texas, where i stayed during some of the colder Chicago months.  (i claim temporary insanity regarding this decision.) on January 1, 2003 i moved to Lausanne, Switzerland.  unfortunately, i could not obtain a Permit de Résidence for retirement (I was 49 at the time, and the minimum age to retire in Switzerland is 55).  so i decided to return to the USHey, specifically San Francisco, as the social climate is much more conducive to my particular gestalt.
